President's Message

Seisen University, founded by the religious congregation of the Handmaids of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, has been providing quality education based on the ideals of Christian humanism under the motto of 'Veritas et Caritas'. Seisen endeavors to nurture women to become responsible, independent and public spirited members of society.
"Veritas" means Truth. We are to learn and to find ways to live with human dignity, and to think of ways to attain a fruitful future whilst maintaining good human relations globally in a true spirit of co-operation.
"Caritas" means charity or true love. We are to cherish the individuality of every human being born with blessings, to respect and understand the diversity of people and to love them.
In the sixty years since its founding, graduates of Seisen have been putting Veritas et Caritas first in their lives and have been active globally.
We believe that students should have fulfilling lives both academically and personally and that their student lives can build the foundation for promising futures.
